Candlelight Vigil

Liberty standing tall

More than ever our great country needs our prayers and support. Much of the world is in mourning and shock from the devasting, heartless slaughter of innocent victims by a source of evil that is incomprehensible. Please join our prayer vigil, there is power in numbers and even more power in prayers. If we join them together in numbers that circle this wounded planet, God will surely give back the healing and justice we all need so badly. Every candle lit with prayers will add another flicker of hope . Let's use the power we have to light this time of darkness and despair.

God bless us all in this horrendous act of violence that was meant to tear apart this nation. Instead of destroying us, it has brought us closer together. Our deepest sympathies to those that have lost loved ones.

Sophia ~ Sep 19, 2001 ~ Tulsa,OK

It has been a week now and I am just beginning to accept what has happened.The way I see it is that someone somewhere is wanting to tear us down as a nation.Well in all the horror that has happened one thing good happened.We as Americans have come together to let the rest of the world know that you can`t break us as a nation.You can fly into our tallest buildings and cause them to fall, but you can`t make the United States of America fall.I send my deepest sympathy out to all the families morning the loss of loved ones and I commend the NYPD,NYFD and all the great people who came out and helped with all the rescue work.Keep praying America because the people who did this will get theirs.(Is it hot down there?)~*~*~GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND THAT I LOVE~*~*~

"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him that prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret- it only causes harm.
For evildoers shall be cut off,
But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed you will look carefully for his place,
But it shall be no more.
But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees that his day iscoming.
The wicked have drawn the sword
And have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To slay those who are of upright conduct.
Their sword shall enter their own heart,
And their bows shall be broken." Psalm 37:7-15
"But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strenght in the time of trouble.
And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them`
Because they trust in Him." Psalm 37:39-40

Our hearts and prayers go out to all of those individuals and their families who have been deeply touched by this unspeakable act, I believe in my heart that God is able to heal this nation and help us as a people to get through this tragedy. May God bless and keep you all.

sara ~ Sep 19, 2001 ~ pittsburg, ks

God I pray that you heal our land. Bring peace and joy to our country, and give us the strength we need to get though this. I pray for all who are hurting, may you give them comfort. And as most Americans are on our knees, I pray we always stay there, for when we are brought to our knee, only then are we strong. 2 Corinthians 4:8-10
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandonded; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body."
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS.I WILL SAY IT AGAIN: REJOICE! LET YOUR GENTLENESS BE EVIDENT TO ALL. THE LORD IS NEAR." PHIL. 4:4-5

Psalms 23
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul,he leadeth me the the path od righteousness for his name sake.
Yea, though I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL, FOR THOU ART WITH ME, thy rod and thy staff comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, thou anointest my head with oil my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Ben Lusk ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~

Sadly enough it is for this to happen to such a great country, but for something this tragic to happen to all those great people is undeniably the most horrific sight I have ever seen in my entire life. My heart and soul go out to all the families and children who lost someone in the WTC. I know deep down how it feels. I am still greiving the loss of my mother and that is why I feel for all of you. May God Almighty Bless You All. I Love You.

Hold them, Lord, when human arms fail. Hear their prayers, O Lord, and let them hear Your word of peace in their lives. GOD BLESS AMERICA peace in their lives. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Kay ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~

A special prayer to our Nation and to the families in the rest of the world. We all suffer the same in this greatest tragedy we will ever know. My father was in WWII and my grandfather was in WWI. So I have heard war stories all my life but none will ever compare to this. We are survivers. We will stand proud and tall. The people that paid the ultimate price with their lives should be awarded a special citation instead of being a casualty of war. The did indeed die for our country in the twin towers as well as the pentagon. God bless their souls and their families. Here is a poem I wrote. Maybe it will help their herats to heal.
A Message From Heaven
You know I can hear you when you weep
Don`t cry for me, I`m just asleep
Remember all the good times that we had
You`ll see the good outweighs the bad
Just listen with your heart and you will know
I`m still with you where ever you go
Be kind and true to all you see
We`ll meet again, you and me
But remember I hear you when you weep
Don`t cry for me I`m just asleep

Claudia King ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~

This is a time of great turmoil for America...it is a time for us to draw together and "Pray unceasingly..." We need to keep all of our young men in our prayers as well, as they are called to serve their country, and those who are chosing to enlist to fight for our country. God is with us even though we have shut Him out of our schools, the work place, sporting events, etc. He will not forsake us. God Bless America!!!!

Sheila and Mike ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~ Broken Arrow, OK

We all fight our own battles everyday, with life and death, whether it be due to illness, accidents, stress, lack of money, jobs, food, etc., making life too busy to always envision beyond our own issues at times - sometimes life is like a reflex. This rude awakening we have received opens our eyes immensely as a nation and affects the entire nation and countries around us as these were The World Trade Centers - the heart of America`s and the world`s financial success and economic growth, brilliant minds setting the pace for us to thrive from. And the Pentagon, our nations fortress. And the actual saving of the White House by the courageous people aboard that flight. We so admire the New Yorkers and those in DC and PA, and all the airline personnel worldwide - we see each day trudge through the city streets and airports to their offices and jobs, not knowing what each day will bring but keeping the faith that life can go on. They too are our true heroes, along with all the rescue personnel and those who died from Pennsylvania to DC to NYC. What a tragic loss for their families, friends, coworkers, companies and us as a united nation. Democracy will prevail and our freedom will continue to reign for united we stand. Our prayers are with the entire world as we all look for guidance from above to find peace in unity and end terrorism. As a united nation, we need to put all prejudices aside as we are all Americans and need to support America. Being part Native American Indian, ww need to remember many of us are of many nationalities who are Americans - let`s not judge one by the color of their skin .....remember the words of Martin Luther King.....we shall overcome - as long as we stay united - together. We are proud to be American`s and support President Bush and his staff for the defense they are providing us during this terrorist attack on our great nation. America is No. 1!

KLM ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~

Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. May God bless America, always. We are one nation united in prayer and resolve. KLM

Pat ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~ Hereford, TX

Dear God, Please forgive us our sins against you. As we humble ourselves, acknowledging our need for You, seeking Your Face, You will forgive us and heal our land. We pray for the comfort of those who`ve lost loved ones. We have all lost in this travesty. Heal all of our broken hearts. May we never be the same. May this make the difference we`ve needed in this land to be the leaders You want us to be. May we all grow strong in our relationship with You and and truly be a light in a dark and crooked world. Lord, we thank you for all the wonderful people who have sacrafically given of themselves to help those in need. Thank you for the privledge to live in a nation that is one of giving and caring. We know Lord, that it only has come from the Christian Heritage we have. Not that we are perfect but we are forgiven through the blood of Christ. Again, as we return to You as a people, we ask for Your protection and guidance. Thank you for President Bush and his staff. Thank you, that they know to call on the name of Jesus and seek your guidance. Thank you Lord, for your comforting and convicting presence. In Jesus Name, pat, Hereford, Tx.

I Thank God for all the men and women who put their own lives on the line to see that others made it out safely. That is "True Love" when someone puts someone elses life before their own. I pray that the Lord will continue to give all of us strength to make it through this, and we will. Let`s continue to lift each other up in prayer and be there for those who need a shoulder to cry on. May God Bless You All. JESUS IS LORD!!!

In these dark days, keep in your prayers those whose lives were so cruelly ended and all those whose lives have been forever changed. Keep them in your hearts so the memory of them will remain undimmed. And pray for those brave Americans who will defend freedom and humanity in the days to come. God will be on the side of the strongest battalion, the United States of America. God Bless Our Great Nation and all her people.

As we unite as Americans, let us not forget our Lord who tests us in our time of need. Let us turn to him for strength, courage and forgiveness for he alone will help us to heal and to understand. My prayers to the families who have lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy and pray to the families who have yet to know where their loved ones are. Although this is a horrible and tragic time for all of us, I can honestly say that, my son, who is due to be born this November, will grow to know the unity and love the American people have and how we bond for each other. Let`s keep the hope strong.

Tammye Howell ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~

Peace I leave you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Carla Taylor ~ Sep 18, 2001 ~ Sapulpa, OK

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
How great is God -- beyond our understanding! The number of His years is past finding out. Job 36:26
God doesn`t always give us all the answers, but He always gives us faith to trust Him.
Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light. Micah 7:8
May God bless, heal and help America.

Dear God and the American people that are still with us... As this terrible terrorism came to our country,,, we have found what what AMERICA stands for... As UNITED WE STAND,,, God WILL BLESS this nation and evryone who stands with her... My heart cries and is very saddened to the firefighters, police, EMS, city, and our president and his staff. But most of all the ones who are left behind, as in the little children that have lost their parents, grandparents,brother, or sister, or any member of their family. God knows and will take care of them with his angels. I pray we all see the power of our Lord and Savior,,, and trust totally in Him for our peace in our hearts. Jesus will heal our land... GOD BLESS AMERICA
