Candlelight Vigil

 |
More than ever our great country needs our prayers and support. Much of the
world is in mourning and shock from the devasting, heartless slaughter of
innocent victims by a source of evil that is incomprehensible. Please join our
prayer vigil, there is power in numbers and even more power in prayers. If we
join them together in numbers that circle this wounded planet, God will
surely give back the healing and justice we all need so badly. Every candle lit
with prayers will add another flicker of hope . Let's use the power we have to
light this time of darkness and despair.

I am 12 years old and I will remember this tragedy for the rest of my life. My heart aches everytime I see the news and there showing families grieving over missing loved ones. Words cannot explain the sympathy I feel. When I first heard about the tragedy at school, I just wanted to be home with my family. I cryed many times and each tear I shed is dedicated to every family who is coping with this tragedy. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

My heart is heavy with grief for the familys and the ones we have lost, people we have never met before in our lives, people that have now lost their innocent lives, people we must never forget. May God bless America.....and it`s children

I cant speak for all of america, but i do know that most of us feel the same on this matter. To all who think that America will lay down and take this kind of treatment, we will go down fighting. We will fight to our last brother standing. He will fight to his last breath. Amereica is filled with pride. From the day that our ancestors proclaimed our freedom we have defended our freedom and the freedom of the world. If it takes our lives to insure freedom for our children and the world then that is what we will give. Americans are born free, with pride and dignity. God bless all who perished due to these dispicable acts of violence. I pray that none will be forgotten, and those that gave thier lives so that others may live through this ordeal. Most of all god bless our freedom.

~ Sep 15, 2001 ~
Quotes from: Derek Walcott, Nobel Prize in Literature, 1992 and from writer Dean Koontz, from the book `Dark Rivers of the Heart` Combined by Elixir to express the following:
`There is grief, there will always be, but it must not madden ...` `to erect bars in an invisible prison, a prison that there is no escape. The prison of expectations. The prison of fear. The prison of doubt, distrust.`
A battle between Good and Evil about to begin. Let the power of LOVE prevail to give us all guidance and strength.
Lord have mercy.

Oh Heavenly Father, we thank you for your comfort and strength during this terrible terrible tragedy. And now we beg for your guidence and your wisdom to lead us in bringing this evil to justice. We see your presence in the face of Americans everywhere with the way we are helping and uniting and supporting one another. You are the truth, the way, and the light. You are also our `anchor`. We know that no matter what happens lord, it will be ok because you are still in charge and that you still reign and always will. And as long as we have you, we have hope. God bless America, always. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

This tragedy has affected me in such a profound way. My prayers are with all of the rescue workers, leaders of our nation, survivors trapped under the rubble, and the families of the casualties of this senseless devastation.
Somehow Bin Laden thought this would cripple our nation. It has done the exact opposite. It has united everyone, regardless of race, creed, color or religion. We now have a single thing that we can ALL agree needs to be dealt with immediately.
God Bless the USA!!

My heart goes to all the victims, their families and friends. It`s so sad and terrible that such a huge number of innocent passed away cause of a few number of mean evil people. There were kids as young as 3 years old on one of the planes that crashed into WTC. It`s sad that the child has to see something like this before they die. I am truly heartbroken since so many people died. I am so scared but I will stand strong for America. God Bless America!

I cannot believe what´s happend...I cried...My heart is shattered to 1000 pieces and every tear I fell goes out to the victims of this terrible act...Tragedy is such a small word, for there is no word to this. Just sorrow and....more sorrow. Take this moment to your heart and let a new world begin. In peace, love and understanding. One united nation and justice for all....

I have been in shock over the tragedy that happened to our great nation. It has been hard to describe what is going on to my children when I don`t understand it all myself. I just heard about a day care facility near the world trade center that took care of many children who had parents that were in the building when it collapsed. Some of these children still have not been picked up.These children have been left without their parents. This is a very sad thing and I would like to ask everyone to pray for those children and their parents. I would also like to ask everyone to pray for our country to pull together and take the steps necessary to overcome this. Also our president and military need our prayers, God please be with them ,protect them, and help them as they strive to protect us. `God bless the U.S.A!!!`

From the heart of Canada, I wish to extend my condolences to all those who are at a loss as the result of Tuesday`s gutless cowards. As one who has travelled most of the continental U.S., I know how beautiful a neighbour we have south of us. And I know that your freedoms and democracy will withstand this brutal act, with America and all of the free world standing up to say `NO` to idiots like Bin Laden and his followers. It is my wish that all of you know that Canada is standing with you in your time of sorrow, and that we feel the loss too... there are at least 100 known Canadians missing or known dead at this point. There is an inscription on a statue located on the U.S. - Canada border between British Columbia and Blaine, Washington that reads, `Children of a Common Mother.` We are linked together in so many ways ... We will be here for you. God Bless the United States of America....

I get a ton of newsletters. All offer the same things we are feeling. Many mention someone close to them who is unaccounted for. One sent his ezine after his 12 hour shift at the scene in New York. How can we ever express the pain and prayers in our hearts and minds? Collectively, as we`re doing here. Thanks Mary and Sarah for setting this up for us to share this together as the family we are. God Bless America in this incredibly trying, torturous time.

As a Canadian I feel deeply sorry for our fellow neighbours. We where deeply saddened by the happenings and we will pray forever for this tragedy.
I say God bless the nations that have suffered on the attacks of these monsters. I pray that God will forgive them for they where brainwashed. Told that giving there life was an honorable thing, I say death to those who have lead this terrible thing and brought many others into it with them.
